LA ECRASH

The LA eCrash software system is Louisiana's official state-wide solution to electronically capture motor vehicle accident reporting information. Crash reports generated through it are quick, accurate, secure, and legible.

The LA eCrash system provides full-scale consistency and fewer interpretation errors in crash data. Officers can enter accident reporting information using a laptop in their patrol car or a desktop computer in their office. The electronic submission of the data helps to collect traffic crash reporting information in a more timely manner.

Benefits & Enhancements

Timeliness: electronic information is posted to the state repository ten times faster than paper report information.

Accuracy and Completeness: LA eCrash is integrated with diagramming software allowing officers to easily make drawings of crash scenes. Magnetic card swipes read driver license information and auto-fills person data. Mapping software allows users to easily identify where the crash occurred. Built-in data validation helps obtain more accurate and complete information.

Cost Effective: LA eCrash is free to any law enforcement agency within Louisiana.

CARTS will continue to analyze the motor vehicle crash data and produce Louisiana Crash Data and Statistical Reports using data collected from the LA eCrash application.
